Our (love) Story

Aloha!
nittra.nitrra is the namesake of Jesse’s fiance, Martina Nittra, as she is his muse and inspiration for creativity. Her given middle name, Nittra, means sleeping beauty in the Thai language and has Indian roots to the word nidra, which is the conscious state between wakefulness and sleep. It is in this sweet space where Jesse and Martina thrive individually and collectively in their relationship. It is also the visionary space where their dream of nittra.nittra came to be. They are truly a living dream!
Jesse began making jewelry for Martina to fulfill her endless wish for alluring adornments. This rekindled a spark from his youth filled with pottery, metal work, painting and luthiery work, as well as a familial legacy of artisans, going back four generations.
Both express themselves through the crafting process with Jesse’s delicate craftsmanship while Martina’s style and grace adds to the finishing touches. nittra.nittra brings their love story to life in tangible, wearable designs led by their adoration for each other and the brilliant turquoise waters of their home in Waikiki on the island of Oahu. nittra.nittra is a creative outlet from them as well as a way to come together as a team, strengthening their relationship. They both giggle when they share that they are each other's yin to their yang; Jesse does some things really great and Martina does other things really great, making them a perfect match!

In their lives outside of jewelry, Jesse provides physical therapy to seniors who reside in assisted living accommodations and Martina is an individual, couple and family therapist in her private practice. You can find them surfing dawn patrol at Queens surf break, practicing yoga, taking walks around Kapiolani Park, or thinking up the next recipe for dinner time. Soon, they will be married at Magic Island and will be whisked away to Indonesia for their surf honeymoon!
To make their dream come to full fruition, they wish for YOU to feel the same sweet aloha of living your dream while wearing nittra.nittra.
Mahalo nui for supporting their small local business!
